california_santa-rosa_county-fairTheme for this year’s Hall of Flowers at the Sonoma County Fair is “Barnyard Blossoms”. Exhibitors will create “a rustic impression of how sweet life can be ‘Down on the Farm’.”

The fair takes place July 24 through August 9, 2015 (except it’s closed on Mondays), in the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, 1350 Bennet Valley Road, Santa Rosa, California.

Here’s how the organizers describe it:
Sonoma County’s heritage is deeply rooted in the agricultural community, bringing a sense of nostalgia to the Fair with images of antique fruit crates, farmers markets and more. Professional landscape exhibitors will create fanciful gardens using themed vignettes named after barnyard animals, such as Cowabungalow, Horsing Around, Pigsty Paradise, Billy Goat Blossoms, Donkey Diggins, Just Ducky, Rabbit Transit, Loose Goose Gardens, Chicken Shack-rila, and Ewe-phoria. Waterfalls, fountains, and special props will enhance this journey down the rural back roads of Sonoma County’s famous farmland.”

In case you were wondering, it takes almost four months for the professional landscapers, landscape designers, amateur gardeners and young floral enthusiasts to transform the hall into a floral wonderland.
