seed-savers-exchangeDriving in eastern Iowa in mid-August, Road Trips Gardeners? Consider a detour to take part in the Community Field Day from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. August 16, 2014, sponsored by Seed Savers Exchange.

You’ll get a “behind the scenes” tour of Heritage Farm, 3094 North Winn Rd, Decorah, Iowa, plus a pancake breakfast, hikes and wagon rides, farm tours and even a peek into the seed vault.

There’s no charge, but you do need to register in advance, which you can do online.

Seed Savers Exchange is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), member supported organization that saves and shares the heirloom seeds of our garden heritage, forming a living legacy that can be passed down through generations. Our mission is to conserve and promote America’s culturally diverse but endangered garden and food crop heritage for future generations by collecting, growing, and sharing heirloom seeds and plants.
