england_wisleygarden_japanIf you’re in England next week — and interested in Oriental horticulture — you might want to stop by Japanese Week at Wisley, the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society in Woking, Surrey, England (map).

It’s set for November 4 through 10, 2013, and includes chrysanthemums, bonsai and acer (the plant genus better known as maple, not the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer).

Members of the Sutton Bonsai Club will be on hand to answer questions about growing and caring for the miniature trees November 7 and 8, 2013. Chelsea Flower Show gold medalist Peter Chan will speak about bonsai at 2 p.m. November 9, 2013.
