indiana_indianapolis_orchardIt opens today — the 24th annual Orchard in Bloom, a flower and garden show held in Holliday Park, 6363 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis, Indiana (map).

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow (May 3 and 4, 2013), and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday (May 5, 2013). Free parking and shuttle service is available at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana (map). Yes, the shuttles run continuously. Tickets at the gate are $12.

Recognized by the American Horticultural Society as one of the top garden shows in the country, Orchard In Bloom features gardening and landscape ideas and products; national exhibitors with a broad range of art and merchandise; live music; speakers, and children’s activities.

The schedule for speakers and demonstrations is online. There’s everything from photographing flowers to a non-native invasive species workshop.

Proceeds support outdoor education programs at Holliday Park and The Orchard School.
