indiana_ferdinand_herb-gardenEvery spring the southern Indiana town of Ferdinand (map) blooms with color during the annual Herb & Garden Days.

This year’s event will take place April 19 through April 21, 2013.

Visitors and residents alike will stroll through the town (especially along Main Street) admiring the wide variety of flowers and herbs in bloom and stop in at the local businesses participating in the event.

If you need a new skill to add to your gardening quiver, check out the annual Chainsaw Carving Festival in 18th Street Park. Carvers come from around the world come to showcase their talents of carving one-of-a-kind benches, signs and statues out of trees.
