Exhibitors from across the Midwest are expected for the 81st Central States Dahlia Society Show in the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, Illinois (map).

It takes place from noon until 4:30 p.m. September 22, 2012, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. September 23, 2012.

Dahlias are known for their bright, vibrant colors and perfect petal arrangements. Thousands of dahlia blooms ranging in size from a silver dollar to a dinner plate will be judged and on display, with floral designs and photography completing the show. Society members will be on hand to provide written information and to answer questions about dahlias.
