The 17th Annual Newport Flower Show takes place June 22 through 24, 2012, at Rosecliff, 548 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island (map).

Sizzle and spice are anticipated, because this year’s theme is “Salsa – A Celebration of Latin Cultures”. Promised are “a fusion of hot colors, passionate designers, exotic plants and cultural adventures”.

Special guests at the show will include floral designer Mario Fernandez and garden writer Derek Fell, author of more than 100 gardening books.

Latin-themed floral exhibits, horticultural entries, garden designs, photography, and children’s programs are all staged throughout the elegant reception rooms of Rosecliff as well as on its oceanfront terrace and lawn.

The Newport Flower Show will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets at the door are $25 on Friday, $23 on Saturday or Sunday.

Proceeds from The Newport Flower Show benefit the preservation and restoration
of the historic landscapes of the Preservation Society of Newport County.
