Grand floral displays and life-sized gardens are promised at the 19th annual Festival of Flowers in Mobile, Alabama, said to be the largest outdoor flower show in the Southeast. Dates are March 29 through April 1, 2012.

As Road Trips Gardeners who travel the Gulf Coast this time of year already know, the festival takes place during what is perhaps Mobile’s prettiest month, with trees leafing out and bloomers displaying their splendor.

Under tent and sky, you’ll fine more than 300,000 square feet of exhibits at the Providence Hospital Campus, 6801 Airport Boulevard, Mobile, Alabama. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets at the gate are $15 (and parking is free).
