Does Dad like roses? If you’re wandering the Pacific shore of Oregon on Father’s Day, Road Trips Gardeners, swing on by Shore Acres for Rose Sunday.

It’s set for June 19, 2011, in Shore Acres State Park, 89814 Cape Arago Highway, Coos Bay, Oregon.

There’ll be rose experts in the garden (and refreshments) from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m.

Perched on a scenic bluff above the Pacific Ocean, Shore Acres began as a private estate of timber baron Louis Simpson. Since then the plantings at Shore Acres have been designed to take advantage of the area’s mild climate. They have created a “garden for all seasons” – with showy “peaks” of different kinds of flowers every time of the year. More than 5000 flowering annuals/perennials are in bloom from May through September.
