The Rose Festival in Portland, Oregon, takes place May 27 through June 12, 2011. This year’s rose is the Sweet Spotlight (pictured, at left).

White roses are truly elegant, yet rarely are they fragrant… until now! This intensely sweet-smelling Hybrid Tea has big, pointed buds that spiral open to show off broad petals of the purest white. Long stems and rich, dark glossy green foliage make this the perfect addition to a cutting garden.

The Rose Show at Lloyd Center Ice Rink in Portland is open from 1 to 9 p.m. June 9, 2011, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 10, 2011. The festival’s Grand Floral Parade steps off at 10 a.m. June 11, 2011, at the Memorial Coliseum and continues into downtown Portland.
