This shout-out is for those of us Road Trips Gardeners who garden in the South. Set your travel schedules this winter to include the 25th Annual Southern Gardening Symposium. It’ll be held January 28, 29 and 2011, at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Designed for gardeners at all levels of expertise, the schedule includes lectures, demonstrations, workshops and (no surprise!) a one-stop gardening marketplace. There, you’ll find an assortment of plants, lots of books (including new releases by symposium speakers) and garden ornaments.

On the agenda are Scott Burrell (Dwarf Conifers for the South), Rick Darke (The New Wild Garden), Dr. Michael Dirr (Thirty Years of Gardening in Georgia), Bobby Green (Camellias), Joe Lampl (Greening Your Garden), Lucinda Mays (Growing Your Own Food), Erin Weston (Winter Garden) and Kari Whitley (Southern Gardening).
