Plant Sale Festival
The Desert Botanical Garden Plant Sale Festival features a large variety of arid-adapted plants. It takes place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 16, 2010, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 17, 2010, in the East Parking Lot of the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 North Galvin Parkway Phoenix, Arizona.
And, Road Trips Gardeners, garden volunteers and horticulturists will be on hand to answer questions, assist in plant selections and offer advice. There is also a used book sale (proceeds benefit the Garden’s library). Specialty retailers will offer pottery and other garden accessories.
This year, three plants will be sold for the first time:
* Arizona Rose-Mallow (Hibiscus biseptus),
* Desert Rose-Mallow (Hibiscus coulteri), and
* Whitewoolly Twintip (Stemodia durantifolia) — that’s it, pictured above left
Here is a list of plants generally (but not always) offered at the sale. And (bonus!) there’s no admission charge to enter the Fall Plant Sale.
